The Xiang River Comprehensive Hub in Changsha is the comparably largest double-lane ship lock in China and the first navigation and hydropower complex project without interrupting the navigation basically during the construction period in China. The double-lane ship lock chamber has the same plane dimensions as the Three Gorges Project, which is the largest size in China. The construction period of the double-lane 2,000t ship lock was only 24 months, setting a record in China. The project was completed and put into production in 2015.
