As for Xiang River Zhuzhou Navigation & Hydropower Complex in Hunan Province, diversion piers and sediment deflecting sills are utilized to solve the problems such as poor navigation flow conditions and sediment accumulation at the entrance of approaching channel. The project reaches the international advanced level. It was the first time in China that setting up wide construction joints was used as the design scheme for soft rock foundation. It won the National Quality Project Silver Award and the first prize for Hunan Provincial Outstanding Design Award.
