The Suzhou Creek Sluice Pivot Project is a large Type (II) sluice project, which is mainly used for irrigation by pumping and also taking into account the comprehensive benefits such as power generation and navigation. The controlled drainage area is 4,620 km2; the designed irrigation area is 59,400 mu; the annual electricity production is 1,132 KWH; and the annual traffic is 200,000 tons.
