The Shiziyan Sluice Pivot Project is a large Type (I) barrage, which is mainly used for flood control and irrigation and taking into account the comprehensive benefits such as water supply and power generation. The controlled catchment area is 6,717 km2; the main river channel is 258.56 km in length and the slope is 1.2‰. The normal storage water level is 314.00 m and the normal reservoir storage is 5,920,000 m3.
