The Dongting Lake Bridge in Yueyang is a cable-stayed bridge with the main span of 310 m, which was finally completed in December 2000. It is China's first double-plane floating system cable-stayed bridge featured by prestressed reinforced concrete decks and three unequal-high towers. It was granted the second prize for National Science and Technology Progress Award, the 5th China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award, the National Excellent Engineering Design Gold Award, and the China's Top 10 Bridges.
