Aizhai Bridge is a suspension bridge, of which the main span is 1,176 m and the vertical height of the bridge deck is 355 m. It was finally completed in 2012, creating “four first-places in the world” and the new technique - “rail cable launching method” for erection of stiffening girders. It was granted the 2015 IRF Global Road Achievement Award (GRAA), the Chinese Patent Excellence Award, the special prize for Science and Technology Award of China Highway & Transportation Society, the first prize for Hunan Provincial Technological Invention Award, the first prize for Hunan Provincial Excellent Engineering Design Award, and the first prize for Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
