Ya'an-Xichang Expressway is a demonstration project typically marked by “survey and design model” and “science and technology demonstration” determined by the Ministry of Transport, known as “Chinese Highway Bridge and Tunnel Museum”, “Space Ladder Expressway” and “Expressway in the Clouds”. The project is 46 km long and was finally completed in 2012. The line passes through more than ten large fault zones with 7-9 seismic intensity degrees and climbs from an altitude of 600 m to 3,200 m within a short distance of 46 km and with a relative height difference of 2,600 m.
