Changde-Jishou Expressway, 223.7 km long, is part of Changsha-Chongqing Passageway for China to implement the western development strategy. Faced with complex mountainous terrain, large proportion of bridges and tunnels, long route mileage and other problems, a number of innovative designs were adopted to successfully build a first-class ecological road or environmental friendly road in China.
