The Shantou SuAi crossing project runs through SuAi Bay in the form of tunnel, which is the double line of G324 national highway - a longitudinal line planned for the trunk road network in Shantou City. The 6,680m-long line was built according to the technical standards for first-class highway and designed with a speed of 60km/h and 6 two-way lanes. This project is the first large-scale undersea shield tunnel resistant to Magnitude 8 earthquake in China.
